AI Analysis for Your Business: Automated Executive Reporting

A controlled reporting workflow that turns trusted business data into a branded monthly executive briefing with analysis and automatic delivery.

At a glance

The need

Automating only the narrative would be unsafe because an AI model should not invent or calculate business KPIs independently. Automating only the numbers would still leave management with a report that lacks explanation and recommended attention.

What the solution does

This project automates the journey from business data to executive communication. It calculates trusted KPIs, uses AI to explain performance, risks, opportunities and possible actions, renders the result as a branded PDF briefing and delivers it by email. The analytical numbers remain governed, while AI supports interpretation and communication.

01

Why this needed to exist

Many companies already collect the data needed for a management review, yet the monthly reporting process still requires someone to extract figures, rebuild commentary, format a document and distribute it manually.

This creates a gap between having data and communicating a consistent executive view of what changed, what matters and what deserves attention.

Automating only the narrative would be unsafe because an AI model should not invent or calculate business KPIs independently. Automating only the numbers would still leave management with a report that lacks explanation and recommended attention.

The challenge was to separate trusted calculation from AI-assisted interpretation, then connect both inside one repeatable delivery workflow.

02

How the solution works

The workflow was designed around a clear control boundary: KPI values come from trusted reporting logic, while AI receives structured results and helps explain movement, significance, risk, opportunity and possible next actions.

The output was treated as an executive communication product, not a raw automation log. Branding, hierarchy, concise narrative and scheduled delivery are part of the solution.

The workflow connects to business data, prepares KPI logic in Microsoft SQL Server, passes structured analytical results into an AI analysis step, assembles executive commentary, renders a branded monthly PDF report and delivers it automatically by email.

n8n coordinates the stages and keeps the process repeatable. The design separates data calculation, narrative generation, document rendering and delivery so each stage can be controlled and improved independently.

What changed

The Maven case and public project description document the implemented workflow, including trusted KPI preparation, AI-assisted analysis, branded PDF generation and email delivery.

The evidence supports the architecture and delivered reporting flow. It does not support invented client names, operating volume, cost reduction or time-saving percentages.

The result is a practical model for combining BI governance with AI communication. Decision-makers receive a consistent monthly briefing that brings KPIs, explanation and recommended attention into one deliverable.

Its demonstrated value is reducing repetitive reporting steps and making business analysis easier to communicate, while keeping the numerical source of truth outside the AI model.
